Good news in the news, PDX Green again...

Shelby Wood's PDX Green in the Oregonian lastest article is about Tax-Credits in the stimulus and in Oregon: A discount for plug-in hybrids and all-electrics that'll make you look twice and this article is full of great links, too.

And so I replied,

Wow, money for zero emission vehicles. Great! Do you think you can help find any info about tax credits and tax write-offs for… Continue

The Mistress Fixed

The Mistress Fixed and other adventures. So she needed attention again, and I started the conversation with J, my wife, poorly. By the time I had acquired the parts I needed to fix my bike, my children were missing me and my wife was jealous. Well, then I spend hours just cleaning and taking apart my bike, making a huge mess of the entire back room, finding… Continue

Something else for Unpollute.Inc to do

Why must I have another new idea? Oh, the curse of thought...

Unpollute.Inc would like to make small business loans to people who would like to start up Zero Emission type businesses. Zero Emission transport, product production/distribution, services etc. Other Green businesses may also apply. Have a good business plan, Unpollute will be here to make you a small ($15,000 tops?) business loan to get it going...

Now I just need that grant or whatever to start up… Continue

Tieing it together: Peacebuilding and the words of Deepak Chopra

Some things are more important than me, or my website. Well, many things are... and Peace is one of them. Indeed, an unpolluted world HAS to be a peaceful one. So I've joined a peace site and here's some stuff I'd like to relate to the world:

Spreading the word is what it's about... so here it goes:

John Wilmerding made the post called The Therory of Actice Peace on On iPeace -- which is now gone???

and Jean posted some words…

Busy on the internet...

Are you busy on the Internet? It's so huge and full of wonderful things and people, I was wondering what YOU like the most lately? I'm still on Pandora Radio a lot, it does such a great job picking new music I've never heard but totally love, it's like an automatic personal DJ... and I like Pandora on so much that I've not really been a big a fan of videos on the net, 'cause I have to pause the music! arrg... but there's some good videos out there, I'm sure. I like the two on… Continue

Daily Joy, but fewer days...

100% just got easier... My work has reduced my scheduled hours quite a bit due to the economic downturn. This is going to hurt. Mucho monetary pain! Between that and my forced vacation, I'm only working like a few more days in Dec, total!!!

Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving.

I was ranting eariler and here's what I wrote:

Not quiting is a great method when it comes to biking, it's harding to come back into the cold if one takes a few cush rides in some cars.… Continue

Whose bark is louder.

Who has the loudest bark the government or the people?

I would have to say both are equal unless you over power with more barks (my personal thought), but only one (government) can put something in effect. The cause is here now and is affecting all of us. Emett has a brilliant plan, lets try bringing it a reality. Any suggestions for any topic are always helpful. We have spoke about organics, pollution, wind power, solar power, alternate transportation (sky tram, buses, max, most of… Continue

Just a biking blog entry...

Boy did I ever have a nice bike ride in to work.

I personally tuned, tightened, trued, overhauled (rear hub), cleaned, lubed and repaired almost every issue I have with my bike.

Oh, and the wind was at my back the whole way.

And the evening sun, low but not yet setting, was warm and friendly; it cast a elongated but perfect shadow of a Portland bike commuter headed eight and half miles due East.

And as the speed and power started to go to my head, I… Continue

A nice and fast ride on a hot day...

Today went well. It was very hot out, and I've learned that by 8.5 miles your water in your water bottle is about 90 degrees, not so nice for drinking. I try to make sure I'm just about done by the end, but I also carry x2 the needed amount so can do a lot of dumping water on myself as I go. When a real heat wave hits I start filling my water bottles early, as in when I get home from work and before bed. and chilling them, one in the fridge and one in the freezer The cooling effect of the wind… Continue

Please bike around...

Basically, I've been 100% bicycle commuting (and all other trips) for 12 years (average 17 mile round trip all weather), and I'm sick of breathing car exhaust, even here in Portland, OR. I've learned a lot of "life lessons" about what makes bicycle commuting work and what does not. More so than any other person I've ever met or worked with so far... But I don't have any ties to the bicycle and small personal vehicle industries yet. I know that lots of people could really use the exercise and… Continue
