About Me:
My personal path to the Zero Emission future is easy: Just keep pedaling! I run all errands and commute to work by biking. I'm an environmentalist who tries to avoid hypocrisy. I've studied Physics, Math, Chemistry, etc at Harvey Mudd College, and I have gotten an AA degree in General Studies from Mt Hood CC.

I enjoy time with my family and reading science articles and books and especially a great science fiction novel. I love exploring the spiritual side of life too, which often leads to very interesting conversations and friendships with people from many backgrounds and faiths/non-faiths. I think I've learned a lot from life and I'm excited to share my thoughts with anyone who asks anything. I believe humanity and science are on the verge of finding the link between virtual particles (the forces of nature) and the mind/no mind (Consciousness) of the Observer.

Most importantly, I try to direct conversations towards the question of how can we pass down a healthier Earth and society than than we appear to be dealing with now. ?

Recently, I was promoted from a microchip fabrication job to the Diffusion Area Engineering Process Technician for my shift at the On Semiconductor plant in Gresham. It's very taxing at times, but a job done well in there is very important due to the huge amount of natural resources and energy needed to make microchips. Wasting those resources and energy would be so non-green!

My favorite job was being a Program Leader in the Multnomah County Outdoor School Program. I miss being in the woods everyday and teaching and caring for children, but who wouldn't?

Biking is one of my favorite things to do, and it brings me extra joy, daily... And I enjoy -- usually very greatly! -- my 9 mile round trip commute from my edge of Portland home to Gresham. Even a dark wintery rain-soaked ride is not so bad, just something to brag about later! Thanks to those who help me to achieve this. Jim, Bette, Jessica, Offspring, thank you so very much.

Join Unpollute to communicate with me and other members --among other reasons-- anytime! Welcome. It's like a "Facebook" but with a purpose and Non-Profit / no Ads.
Do you have Website or Blog, what's it about?
www.Unpollute.com / .org: both bounce to unpollute.ning.com

With this ad and pop-up free Ning Network site I hope to inspire you to find your green path, so please join this community and tell us about your choices and issues. The idea is for Unpollute to become a charitable part of the voluntary Carbon Offset world by actively lowering the number of non-zero-emission trips taken by the public and businesses, also teaching about and paying for healthy and lower footprint food and quite a number of other services and tools. It's not a bad plan. One of my classic "In an Ideal World..." ideas. And just what's to stop us from aiming for ideal? Unpollute and spinoffs will easily be able to prove CO2 offsetting Additionality sufficiently well to qualify for Carbon Credit monies from polluters in the world’s current and expanding Carbon Markets. We can accept donations from the willing now, the PayPal account is PeaceLoveLight@yahoo.com. (not a tax write-off)

One good idea for our cities and the world - read up on it in the discussions and judge for yourself, and lend a thought or a feeling or a photo please!

Also, I’ll check into posting profitable links to Green business, so watch for those around the site, I’ll tell you if Unpollute stands to gain income from a reference or link. (none exist yet) Further, I’m on the lookout for sponsors and partners who can make deals for Unpollute members, and also I’d like to hear from you if are skilled at HTML or just very internet savvy, I have a projects ready and waiting.

How'd you find us?
Created it! The idea of using Ning I owe to one Andrew Stock! No spammers will be getting on here, this Network has layers of security and also many features to clean up any bad actors.

My Unpollute Non Profit Organiztion aspirations...

The true power of Unpollute is that it's about your solutions, your way, your skill set, your personal choices... Lets enable (w/$) and inspire,  starting with families and friends and where we live...

With today's gas prices soaring, and the need to reduce our carbon footprint and global warming problems, alternative transportation is the way to go. But where do you start? What are some of the choices out there? What fits in best with your lifestyle and family needs? What are best or cheapest solutions for bikers who commute to work or wish to use no car? How does the rest of the world deal with transportation issues? I know we can learn from other systems and start some new ideas too.

My own new idea is the Unpollute Gift Card Fund, coupled with the Unpollute Transportation Wizard, funded by carbon offset donations and other donations as explained in the Unpollute Bill. The plan is that I'll send you, in the order by which you sign up to this website, a gift card that you can use to BUY yourself alternative transport stuff. From Bikes to Bus passes, or shoes to e-scooters, the Wizard should be a great guide that comes up with both practical and surprising solutions to your particular situation.

If a purchase will enable zero pollution transport, your Unpollute Gift
Card will pay for it up to the value of the card. Or re gift the money to the person in your household that needs it most.

As soon as the funding reaches $500, the first Gift card will go out.

I want to start getting cars off the road ASAP!!!

1-2-09 I added the Unpollute Gift Cards to change.org. It looks good on there, but I missed the voting window. I updated the Card plan too, now I like it even more! It's not just about biking and Zero Emissions transportation... check it out.

I need help with the Wizard. I want to make Unpollute.org a helpful and practical site. I want Unpollute to be great non-profit able to accept carbon offset donations and credits.

signed, Emett Stasiuk

PS I want to try out a shaft drive bike and get a kid carrier... (as of today, 7-12-2010 I've tried electric bikes, nice! and also a belt drive bike, but still not a shaft drive bike... and now I tag-along with my 8 year old daughter, I think at 9 or 10 she'll be biking for miles side by side with me...)

11 Ways To Improve Ones Environmental Impact; Questions and Behaviours:

Briauna asked: Hey guys, anyone have any fun and easy tips or tricks to improve environmental impact? Substitutions in purchases or behavior? TIA!"  Well... guess what, I do.  Answers are highly general and abstract, but that's me and my voice:

1) Goal: Minimize both waste and energy in your…

I'm not having the control of the mobile version like I'd like. But this ning site looks pretty good on a PC / Web browser!!!

I updated the site description blurb.  I think it's cool.  It was "Promoting a Greener and Healthier You! Everybody needs Transportation, Food, And Energy! Save yourself, save money, save the planet," but now it's refreshed.

Supporting and Choices are very good  new words to start explaining Unpollute.  :)  Everybody needs Transportation, Food, and…

I am not much of a writer, or a biker. As you know, I take the bus and MAX to and from work five days a week, 12 miles one way. What kinds of pictures and videos are needed?

Been trying to contact you, you don't make it all that easy. What do you think about everything around us going on. Bird Flu, mad cow deseise, virus and bacteria in our food, bee's dieing and etc. Do you think it is related to the pollution? I did a little bit of studying and they think that the bees are disapearing do to the RF signals throughout the air. If this is true how could we look into fixing this? It is almost impossible with more and more wireless devices these days. Anyhow just thought I would pick your brain a little bit and see if you have any opionions on some of these issues.

Yes, I have been very, very busy these past two months. Just getting ready to move into another place out here, house is in progress now of being sold in Oregon (should know in about 5 business days of so). Also, I have been working 70-80 hours a week. Bekka is starting to do modeling again and is currently trying to get into the next Twillight movie coming out soon. Also, we have been looking at an Ireland trip maybe even to move if I get this job out there. Other than that just looking on here every once in a while haven't had much time to do anything, sorry. :{ I tried calling you today a couple times, I heard Oregon economy is having a ruff time, Microchip on the verge of closing and On Semi letting Peter Rucker go and inforcing required time off without pay for two qtrs. OUCH! Not to meantion the 6'+ of snow you guys got out there. First in in over 100 years. Sounds like fun for you and the kiddies though. I still want to get this going, what do you have put together so far? What is still needing to be done? DK

thanks much, emett! i appreciated the opportunity to share my experiences and hopefully it helped someone. we'll be presenting a slightly modified version of that presentation at the portland farmer's market on may 16, so we'll get to put utility cycling in front of an even larger group of people. :) i really appreciate your comments and thanks much for coming out to suck-up some liquid sunshine!

Emett,
Thanks so much for your welcoming note. This is an excellent site.

I hope you will all sign my petition on Change.org to 'Restore Solar Panels to the White House'. This one action could light a spark under the solar industry everywhere in the world. I have a couple hundred signatures. I need a lot more.

I live in Maine. We have an agency called Efficiency Maine that has a web site with an online tester for your home's carbon footprint and suggestions for ways you can improve it. I think the federal government should be promoting something like this, don't you?

Hi Emett ~ thanks for your comment. I've joined a few Ning communities and you are the first to offer such a lengthy and friendly "welcome". I like that.

I like your idea about the Facebook communities. I know on Ning sites like iheartsingleparents they offer the ability to create focused groups. I haven't had a chance to fully explore Unpollute to see what's offered. I'm guessing that's what you're asking me to try. ???

Joining the site was not at all an issue. Everything went smoothly and only took a few minutes to get going. I came to the site because I did multiple Google searches and didn't find what I was looking for. I've belonged to several Ning sites off and on for a year or so. There are a few bicycle sites, but I like the content you offer.

Runner's World offers a great free community for its members. Of course they have a fat bank account and can afford all the bells and whistles. But it's more than what they offer. I mean, really, what it comes down to is a vision or a concept and understanding not only the needs but the desires of your audience.

Running is a social activity and the running community is hugely social in nature. Runner's World taps into that spirit. Honestly, I'm new to biking and maybe my expectations for a similar sense of community will go unrealized. Or maybe it's a very social community waiting for the right person or web community to bring them together. Another possibility is that it's already out there and I just haven't found it.

Anyway, that's my 10-cent analysis.

I'm looking forward to exploring your site and seeing what everyone has to say.

Have a great day!

Bill

Hi Emett,
Thank you for your warm welcome. For a long time I was not here on this forum. I was very occupied with the Jane Burgermeister/Swine Flu activities. It turned out in something very dramatic.
Alex Struber thought, that he had finally discovered the picture of Jane Burgermeister. And he showed then my picture.
I discovered it yesterday. My son was so furious, that he demanded that it had to be taken of his website within 48 hours. But now I have to take action. It is bad weather, the Police Station is not nearby, and in the same time I can set things straight in the same viral way, as I have done with the message of Jane Burgermeister. The rest of this all you will read on my blogs, next days.

Peace, Love and Justice ,
Farida
