UnPollute

Forward to the Zero Emissions Future

Scientific and new materials interests aside, this is a big deal. Is messing with mother nature on the DNA scene, mixing viral, bacterial, plant, and animal DNA to produce a particular wanted substance or outcome a good idea?  Maybe.  But not food.   Driven by profit, the motivations for the production and selling of this "food" is way off track from a healthy sustainable and intelligent culture of eating high energy natural foods with maximum diversity and best health impacts for the soil, air, water, and the individuals growing, picking, preparing and enjoying the food.

There are some very tough questions, that when asked in terms of GMO companies and GMO labeling easy point to the truth.   What else do you get in the bargain?  How can all the risks be thought of, let alone tested, and further, how do we mitigate an issue if the effects may not fully be known for a few more generations?  Why can't they stop lying about insecticides and herbicides in general, if they kill things, then who gets to say it's safe because "only a statistically low and inconsequential 1% of bees/butterflys/etc dies from contact with exposed crops..."   And most of all is the question of  who is benefiting?  10 years before the public in the US even started to catch on -- including myself-- and that head start has made "them" filthy rich. The answer and revolving door of who these people are is shocking, and sad, some are so well trusted.  Money has corrupted them.  It's corrupted everything.

Please watch this video posted here on Unpollute, it's kinda long, but super great and worth the time.  You can just listen and multitask with out missing too much.   It will show you a little bit about why GM practices are nothing like natural selection or selective breeding procedures long use to produce "new" foods. Time to get wise... just dodge the whole secret science that all us "non-scientific fear-mongers" are so wrong to ask labeling for -- go organic.  Go beyond that, think about what the best possible future might look like, and taste like.

I'm 100% against GM crops and food.  It's not food for people or animals... start your own research and it won't be long before you agree.

It's money they want, so please boycott GM products to the extent that you can!  Choose only white corn, if that's still safe.  And Organic Cane sugar... attached is a list that will help.  But you have to stay up to date!  I'll try to help!

Also go organic or local known-to-you for sources of milk, eggs and other animal products, as the GMOs will be mixed in with regular foods here before too long.    Also to consider is the fact that traditionally fed animals have been eating a ton of GM crops, potentially lowering their quality of life and their health and food value -- potentially their meat and eggs could  be making people sick.  I know there was work on GM pigs and salmon already done and "tested."  But, of course, I have no way of knowing much more than that, what the goals or safety "limits" might be.  Who's going to provide and enforce those limits?  Maybe the same people who fought the, um, good fight to stop stem cell research (just research mind-you) could get riled up to fight this crud being fed to US and world citizens.  GMOs could be easily be considered to have that same, not-as-God-intended gross monster-engineering vibe the seemed to have struck a cord when fetal stem cells were in the news.

I added the list, The Non-GMO Shopping Guide, as an attachment here. Gotta make this easy as possible, because GMOs use has grown in the corn and soy industries in the US. Best luck and best wishes for your health and that of our children and further generations...

Link to the NonGMOShoppingGuide website. There's an app for that. Now I NEED an iPhone... or iSomething!
Try explaining GM food (like corn) to a child. Their natural reaction of total disgust is very telling... Embrace your inner child!
The USDA has been on the side of industry and failing to protect the US farmers and consumers. Proof: They lost in court.

Are they forgetting why we have a USDA? How dare they fight these cases all the way up to the Supreme Court!!!???

The USDA has approved 81 GE crops — it has never denied a proposal — and 22 applications are pending.   -Washington Post

Did you see the attachment?  At this point I need an updated one...
