A nice and fast ride on a hot day...

Today went well. It was very hot out, and I've learned that by 8.5 miles your water in your water bottle is about 90 degrees, not so nice for drinking. I try to make sure I'm just about done by the end, but I also carry x2 the needed amount so can do a lot of dumping water on myself as I go. When a real heat wave hits I start filling my water bottles early, as in when I get home from work and before bed. and chilling them, one in the fridge and one in the freezer The cooling effect of the wind from biking and the water saves me from suffering even when, like today, its super hot (90+) and I have to go full speed due to leaving home at the last possible minute.

Also. It was a good day for responses to the 'head nod' with motor bikers and cyclists both. I usually wave, but it has not been invoking return waves as much in the last few years. And it as always seemed like women cyclists are just not down with returning a wave or a head nod. Why is that? I hope I'm not creepy... The wave or nod just shows friendly compassion because we know what each other faces out there on the roads, and it combats the loneliness..
