Unpollute is a path to a Zero Emissions future because here are offered many solutions and ideas to cover the three main sources of air pollution from the public -- from people just living their lives. People's transportation methods and needs, their food, and their energy needs for their homes. I believe businesses would also benefit from inclusion and participation with Unpollute. This site is about advocating alternative transportation ideas, better food sourcing, and zero emission energy production and storage. I'm constantly adding my own personal solutions for commuting issues (bike bike bike!) with tips from my experiences, and I'm hoping to build some powerful online tools to enable people to find their own best solutions, methods, and products. I'll also provide useful links to environmental news and green living articles. I hope this site can inspire people to find ways to help the environment and save money. Don't leave it all to me -- join up and add your input, we all need your knowledge, ideas, great finds, and even products if your selling zero emission or other "green" stuff (free advertising)!

The Chartiy Itself will be based on this idea:

What’s going to motivate Americans and others to bike, walk, run, skate, mass transit and otherwise wheel around without polluting? Money! Likewise, to eat healthier, exercise and care more about the environment in general… Money again. When families are struggling to keep off the streets and jobs are scarce, environmentalism falls to the wayside as a silly luxury for the well-to-do. While not true in the long run, because sustainability literally saves, we must be safe and fed before we care.

I think giving money is the best way to make it clear that people can be trusted to make better decisions if only they were given a good reason (such as: 10 years to plan and set up the Zero Emission economy as per Al Gore and the We Can Solve It group) and the monetary opportunity. It’s just that right now people don’t have an extra 50 dollars to get their bikes fixed or buy enough lights to feel safe in the dark.

With this site we can show them that there are other choices to cars and junk food and offer help. Here's my plan: a simple gift card that enables purchasing qualified products and services would be an ideal use of carbon offset donation money and carbon credit monies from polluters. Carbon offset money that stays local instead of being shipped off to fix the environment elsewhere. Elsewhere can be a hard place to prove they're fixing things enough to offset our pollution here! This fixes air pollution closer to the source. It would be a boon to the jobless and poor, heck, Unpollute money could be the start of many new careers, if not just the start of a new mode of commuting or eating for all who are interested. And who isn't interested in free money. This would encourage spending and sharing for Zero Emission products. This would be a great resource for the less needy and even for businesses, so often reluctant to spend money even to save money in the future, or needing a guiding hand in making greener product choices… But this is more important than just saving money (and gas), this a chance to save our world’s future. The Unpollute Gift Card program will start small and local, and then we’ll see if it can work on a national level!

UnPollute Zero Emissions Charter:

The Zero Emissions Gift Card Fund Charity Organization

To stimulate the economy and get Americans and American products moving again, but at a reduced over-all cost and with less over-all pollutants, with less use of foreign oil, and a bright future of leadership in the emerging “green” industries, including Alternative Energy industries, Zero Emissions transport, slow/organic/local food and clothes, the polluters and other Americans will send gifts to all Americans.

In alignment with the concept of reducing driving miles-- as is a part of every plan to reduce greenhouse and other emissions-- Every American and American Company gets a Zero Emissions Gift Card good for $500 (or more?), and more over time, of purchases that qualify. The Zero Emissions Gift Card Fund will be considered a “carbon offsetter” qualified to be paid by any carbon cap and trade fees and/or payments from polluters. Carbon offset credits will be made avail for purchase by payments to the fund. Carbon offset donations to the fund shall be considered as fully tax deducible charity donations.

The Zero Emissions Gift Card Fund will be a charitable gift program with funds easily transferred between and among individuals, groups, families, and/or other charities. With giving so enabled the American people shall control a significant amount of money and so direct it where it can do the most good in the frame of their own lives, for themselves or for others, be them near or far.

For children under 15, their gift(s) shall be redirected to the parent(s) or guardian(s). Individuals and or companies can re gift to other individuals' and/or companys' accounts. Zero Emission Gift Cards can be reloaded with legal tender if desired, a fully tax deductible charity donation.

Charity donations to the entire Zero Emission Gift Card Fund could be instantly split as cash value to all citizen’s individual accounts. (I would like to see funding for $100 each card per year for maintenance, repair, and other ongoing costs.) Some small percent will be needed for the Zero Emissions Gift Card Fund system setup and program maintenance.

Products purchased with a Zero Emissions Gift Card would become normal personal or company property.

Qualifying Purchases, 3 Types

· A personal transport service with a zero emission vehicle.

· A post or delivery service with zero emissions.

· Consulting, Installation, and other services which provide customers with Zero Emission (or otherwise improved "Green") solutions to typically polluting situations.

· Payments to a food service provider that uses 75% or higher of “foods and services that qualify.”

Benefits of the Zero Emissions Gift Card Fund Charity:

· Equivalent to some free transportation, food, and services becoming available for citizens.

· Economic Stimulus: Boosts consumer demand for needed technologies evoking the power of the free market to create jobs to fill the demands. Keeps our scientists and engineers and workforces busy and improving, not falling behind.

· Popular use would lower the Unite State’s dependency on oil and foreign oil.

· Fewer traffic jams saving travelers and businesses time and fuel.

· Helps mitigate some health care costs in the long run due to a healthier public, based on cleaner air in densely populated urban areas, and on more people getting exercise.

· Lowers wear of the roads, saving road maintenance costs.

· Lightweight and other Zero Emission Transportation devices abound, and a boon to this industry will cascade savings throughout the economy.

· Bikes and many other Zero Emission transport devices require no liability insurance, providing an opportunity for personal savings.

· Widespread use would help to push back the global warming threat and other pollution related threats, such as ocean acidification.

· This simple fund coupled with gift cards for American citizens would also improve National Security based on a rise in local/small food sources, and a lessening of our dependency on foreign oil.

· Clearer Air, Healthier Soils, and Cleaner Water.
Zero Emissions Gift Card Fund Website

An official web site is setup for login access by all Americans and companies linking them to the huge database of qualifying items, services, their own account info, and other public records concerning the Zero Emissions Gift Card Fund.

The Website enables those who wish to, to sign on, and be taught about:

1) Ecological commuting options and considerations, and then be guided towards an appropriate and preferred choice of products from around the globe. Percent of American parts and labor shall be clearly listed, as well as country of origin so that individuals can make informed choices. Remember, items produced in the USA are usually manufactured in more ecologically sound ways than similar products from some other parts of the world. But solutions to an individual’s commuting challenges can best be found when the whole world of ideas is open.

2) Sustainable food, food security, and “green” rating factors.
If this worked right, you'd spend the money on the Unpollute Card, or re-gift it, and that would automatically be carbon offsetting. That's why the Unpollute system could get money from carbon pollution credits and carbon offset charity donations. Now I gotta get this idea off the ground! Time to look into charity giving and carbon offsetting systems and companies. I'll start a new forum...

Towards food I would have to say it is a good idea. Yet we will need to find specific foods that would fall into the manner of greener efficiencies. As not all organic farms are 100% organic completely. i.e. There is many farms in California I found out that use man maid fertilizers that are organic that come from left over’s from certain dinning areas like fish, sandwich bars and etc. There is not enough organic fertilizer in the world as they cannot keep up with the demand orders. This would help all the organic farms out there by helping this industry enlarge and cut down on non needed waste, and also create many more jobs in the greener acts.
Quitting your job won’t help it until it gets start my good friend. Getting money for people to put towards food would be great, but I don’t think the government is that willing for give money out for food as there are already donations and welfare places that have that program (FOOD STAMPS). Although it is a different approach and position it wouldn’t be classified for grant money just yet. Maybe the Zero Emissions to remove vehicles from the road would be the best way to start off. Once we ace that down and start getting sponsors and government grants we can use the non profit monies to start working towards foods and other energy thoughts to lower pollutions.
Thus, bringing me to the solar and wind energy balances being put into place; this is the next boom for the future of our nation and possibly the world. Maybe we should start looking at getting each home a small solar panel for the increase of energy costs. This would help each family to afford to use more organic foods if desired and other greener ways of living. Giving willing families that are supporter’s money to support solar power and wind power at their homes could save large amounts of money for them, and pollution to the air. Getting solar panels to eliminate water heater costs, air conditioning and heating costs alone could save about 70%-80% on pollution for each house hold. This could also land us some sponsors from solar companies as well to help spread Unpollute across the nation.
I want to do as much as I can as well to eliminate as much pollution, but we will need to take it at baby steps. Starting with the bike idea, and then determining what to move on to from there.

Oh to answer your other question it should be handled by private or non profit organizations as the government is already too biig and doesn't know how to spend our money we give them. We should give the money back to the community and let them try fixing what is needing to be fixed. The government has been trying to fix many things and from what I see that fail at it miserably in many ways. Thanks. that is absolutely right. I had auto shop in high school. But nothing for bikes !!!
But, in 4th grade the BTA (Bicycle Transportation Alliance, http://www.bta4bikes.org/) came to my daughter's school with like 40 bikes and trained the classes how to actually bike on the streets safely. That was good.

As you all know I support this till the end. Military will not give up any of their funds, but funds that are going to the cities to build or repave streets are high and there is always an open safe for this bank. In example; if you ever drive on the freeway you will be signs stating that a "$3 billion is in progress", or you'll see "Your tax dollars at work".
Now if the government is signing off checks to approve a $3 billion projects for little amounts of work to be completed to roads to help commutes for cars, then I think we can get some monies poured in to our funding that is helping the air quality and may even help clear up those traffic jams in $3 billion projects that will be needing to be redone 3 years later.
It always starts with one individual to make that special change. One individual may not make a huge difference in some eyes, but if you look closely it brings this purpose one step closer. There is always followers for what ever is being done!
I'd like to see the public schools offer workshops on maintaining a bicycle. My guess (with no evidence) is that more people know how to pump gas than change a bike inner tube.
